I also find that it is still easier to present my models to clients on a laptop because I can edit on the spot. I'm really happy with my desktop and iPad setup, but I find myself still needing a laptop for modeling when I'm out of the office. I built myself a desktop and have been presenting my projects to clients on an iPad Pro with the Sketchup Viewer app. But I've come up with ways to manage larger files since then.Įventually, I got rid of the Surface because the battery got swollen. I would only really feel that it struggled when saving the file because it would take a really long time to finish saving. I say it's workable because when the file was loaded up, I was able to model just fine. Of course, working on larger projects slowed down the computer, but it was workable. I used to do all these with an i7 Surface Pro 4 as my only computer. My projects range from small condos to large homes, cafes, restaurants, offices and hotels. Maybe I'm overthinking, but here's where I'm coming from.

Anyone here using a Macbook Air for sketchup? How well does it perform? Do you feel you should have went for a Macbook Pro instead?
